How We Can Help You
Legal Information vs Legal Advice: Judges, court employees, and librarians must be neutral and impartial, and can give legal information. Only a lawyer representing you can give you legal advice.
About This Site
This site provides neutral legal information only as a public service by the Virginia Access to Justice Commission for self-represented litigants. Judges and clerks of court may have a local practice that is not reflected on this website. Always check with your local court about its procedures. This site does not take the place of an attorney, and cannot advise you on strategy or tell you what to say in court. Please note that only an attorney representing you can provide legal advice.
Virginia Judiciary Website
The aim of the Virginia Judicial System is to assure that disputes are resolved justly, promptly, and economically through a court system unified in its structures and administration. The official website for the judicial branch of government in Virginia offers access to court forms, case information for all levels of courts, and contacts for all courts and many court-administered programs in Virginia.

Interpreter & ADA Services
The mission of the Foreign Language Services Division (FLS) is to assist individuals with limited English proficiency in overcoming language limitations so as to ensure universal access to Virginia’s Judicial System. Toward that end, FLS provides interpretation and sight translation services, certifies and hires high quality interpreters, and sets and maintains the highest professional standards for the provision of language services. See language access FAQs for more information. The court also provides ADA accomodations, such as services for the blind and visually impaired, as well as the deaf and hard of hearing.
